January has been an action packed month….I got married!! January 1st….what a great way to start the year! My Wife Liz and I moved...again….
As some of you know we moved to Penticton last November. We moved into an amazing shitty apartment…..so...we moved again on December 31st into our new home. It’s wonderful….we have amazing landlords, we are 5 minutes from the beach, our backyard backs onto the KVR trail, ( a bike / ex-railroad ), we have an amazing view, deer roam freely and the Wine Bar is down the street!
I’ve been able to set up the new studio in a more permanent way. I haven't had that for awhile now and it feels amazing…..the spare room is my domain. It’s small, quiet and mine…..plus I have access to the kitchen!
I started my project Awesome People officially as of January 1st. It took me almost a year….and not because I was procrastinating, I’m not that girl, but because I wanted to let it evolve into itself. It is now fully up and running and is amazing! If you haven't checked out Awesome People yet you should do so…I have the great privilege of interviewing people and painting their portrait. What a way to spend my time…..I can't say enough how much I love this!
"What was the tipping point in your life that has influenced you the most? Who or what has had the biggest impression on your life? And if you could make a difference in someone's life by passing on one thing, what would that be?"
All these portraits on Awesome People have also lead me to some great commissions. I’m very grateful to have been able to paint a whole family, thank you Josse!
I’m off to Calgary next week ( Feb 6 to 16th ish ) for a visit and to paint an abstract commission. Since the people i'm painting this for live in Calgary I thought I might paint it there and get a visit in…
Contact me on Facebook, let's have a party!!
cheers, with love, lisa
