Just down the street and around the corner there is this really great place called Mile Zero Wine bar. Mile Zero stands for zero footprint. So the idea is to have zero footprint. Here you will find wine from Penticton, next Naramata, next Oliver then Osoyoos. All wine regions working there way out from Penticton centre. Which is where this place is located. The address is 200 Ellis if you’re in town and wanting a cool place to try some wine. I think there are about 60 wines….for real. And there is 8 wines on tap. 4 white 4 red. PLUS you can take the wine challenge! A cool little game to see how well you know your wine.
I’ve recently hung some art in this cool place. They had mostly bare walls with one painting...a large painting by Charles Malinsky. So my work is hung in a contemporary establishment along with a Charles Malinsky….feels pretty cool!!!
The owners of Mile Zero Wine Bar are pretty cool too! The building has been in the family for 3 generations. Erin is the manager so if you stop by say hi! This big square brick establishment used to be a car parts store, thus the big Pennzoil Sign up on the wall.
This month I will be painting some tables for them. If you haven't had a chance to see some of my tables check out the CreamyDreamy section. Some day when I own my own place I’m going to paint my own countertops……..but until then I will head to Mile Zero to place my wine on some custom art table. Cheers!
